Adolescent Course

How long is the session?

The Adolescent course takes place onlineover 6 weeks, on Tuesdays from 3.45-5.15pm.  Each Session is 1hr 30 mins.

Will they be learning practical tools and techniques?

Young people learn best by doing.  They will learn & practice many self-regulation techniques including; breath exercises, movement & mindfulness techniques.  In addition they will learn self-awareness skills grounded in Acceptance Commitment Therapy.  Everything they learn is tailored specifically to the needs of adolescents.

Is the space confidential?

​Yes, unless there is a safeguarding issue.  We can sign post, refer to other services and professionals if necessary.

Are there opportunities for further learning with us?

Yes, absolutely.  We are passionate about creating a nurturing community for young people.  We will be hosting monthly Webinars for Adolescents around specific themes.  Adolescents will be able to learn new skills, be inspired and grow in their self-awareness.  In the future, we will also be organizing events for Adolescents to meet up, learn and have fun together.  Sign up to our email newsletter to hear about the latest webinars and events.

Where?

The Course will take place online via Zoom.  We hope to run in person events locally in Bromley soon.

Are the teachers CRB checked?

Yes.

How many people will be in the group?

There will be no more than 10 people in each course. 

How old are the other participants?

​There are specific courses for different age groups to make sure the course is developmentally appropriate.  One for ages 11-14 and another for 14-16+

Yes there will be webinars for parents too.  Please make sure you sign up for our newsletter and check out our Community Webinar page on the website.

What are the benefits to participating in a course rather than 1-2-1?

​Adolescents are primed for group belonging and interaction.   During the secondary school years, their friends and their peer groups become more influential than their parents.   Learning with others their own age encourages relational learning and belonging.  The course is also an opportunity to make new friends.

What do I need to bring?

A Yoga mat, a blanket and a bottle of water.  (We have blocks etc for adjustments).  You may also wish to bring a notebook and a pen.

Are there opportunities for further learning?

Yes, we are passionate about creating community.  There will be monthly webinars specifically for adults who would like to continue with us, grow in self-awareness, and learn – in – relationship with others.  The sessions are contemplative, and are structured around specific themes.  They are a mixture of learning, breath self-practice and meditation. At present they do not include Physical Yoga Postures.

 

 In the future we will also be running events, and workshops for our Adult community. Watch this space and sign up for our email newsletter to find out more.

Do I need to be experienced in Yoga?

​No, adjustments and modifications will be provided for beginners. 

​Do I need to complete a health questionnaire?

​Yes, on booking you will be asked to complete one, and have a brief telephone call with one of our teachers to make we are aware of your individual needs.

Is the course for me?

​The course has been designed to support all those suffering from stress, anxiety and depression including those with Bi-polar.  The course is not suitable for those suffering with eating disorders, or trauma or PTSD.

Will I need to study at home?

Yes, each week you will be given postures, a breath practice and self-enquiry exercises.  You may also have to practice an activity; i.e. a meditation and or self-regulation technique.  You will be give a home practice Manual and digital audio files as part of the course fee.

Is the space confidential?

Adult Yoga Therapy Course.

There will be no more than 12 people in each course. 

How long are the sessions?

​The course takes place over 8 weeks.  Each session is two hours.

​Yes, unless there is a safeguarding issue.  We can sign post, refer to other services and professionals if necessary.
